This is sweet 6 year old Maren! She was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia (AML) in August of 2017. Her treatments included long stays in the hospital with only short breaks at home in between. We went to visit her in the hospital to see what kind of room she wanted...and she asked for a Paris/poodle/pink/black themed room!!! How fun!
We also went to meet her older brother Ricky and older sister Deirdre at their home. Ricky likes all sports but mainly soccer and Deirdre loves woodland animals and forests...and especially wolves!
We completed their makeover on January 11/12/13 with the sponsorship of The Judge Group and their employees. Maren was still in the hospital but we were able to facetime her in for the "big reveal." We are heartbroken to share that she earned her angel wings on April 21.
This is 4 year old Kieran! He was diagnosed with renal cancer early in 2017. After intensive treatments, he went into remission until December os 2017 when scans found that the cancer metastasized.
Kieran shares a room with his older brother Seamus and since they had bunkbeds, we decided to split the room top/bottom with their themes of John Deere tractors and Iron Man. His older sister Maya loves horses so we gave her a room to make her feel like she is in a stable. And younger sister Leah got a baby lamb themed room.
While he was in his second round of radiation and chemo treatments, we were able to do makeovers for him and his siblings with the generous sponsorship of Tri County Area Federal Credit Union and the K-Kids Club of Schuylkill Elementary on March 19/20/21.
Meet Maddie, her older sister Abigail, younger sister Isabelle and her sweet parents!! Maddie was diagnosed with ALL in September 2015.
The girls were really cute and so excited to tell us their ideas for their rooms 💕 Abigail asked for a grown up beach/mermaid theme in greens and blues with a rustic look. Maddie asked for a “zen” yoga room in cranberry and black. And Isabelle loves hot pink, llamas and doing crafts.
Their bedroom makeovers were in July.
We met this little cutie back in February when we went to meet her older brother Tony who was starting to lose his battle with a brain tumor after years of operations and treatments. We made a promise to them that we would give Mariposa her dream bedroom in Tony's honor when they were ready. When we asked her what her favorite color was, she ran into the kitchen, got an orange, came and sat down on the sofa, started peeling and eating it and said "orange!" We gave her a room full of girly things, a place for crafts, a princess dress up area and a canopy bed!
Her bedroom makeover was August 31st.
We are honored to introduce Makenna to all of you. We met Makenna when she was 13 years old. She has a twin brother Kaden and an older sister Kayla.
Makenna was diagnosed with leukemia (AML) in December 2017. It was determined this is a secondary cancer caused from her treatments when she was diagnosed with Wilm's Tumor (kidney cancer) in 2014. She received a bone marrow transplant from Kayla on March 28, 2018. Sadly, she passed away on September 27th...but we still wanted to give her family the makeovers, with Makenna's room being more of a peaceful place with some of her favorite things for the family to reflect.
Makenna loved purple, grey, black and white. She had wanted a way to display all of her karate belts, a hanging chair and a purple fuzzy rug :-) Kaden wanted a sports themed room in red, black and white. Kayla wanted a purple, grey and white room with the words "Pura Vida." Super fun!
We completed their makeovers on November 2nd and 3rd.
